If you’re older (like me), try and remember how you felt. It was a mix of excitement, sadness, and anxiety all rolled into one.

That’s what most of us are feeling right now. No matter where we are in life.

My son will graduate in a couple of weeks from college but he will be continuing his education. Some of his friends have jobs, some don’t.

Uncertainty is the word of the year. It’s impacting companies as well as our lives.

That’s why we need to be kind, practice forgiveness, and self-care. These are hard times for everyone. And you just don’t know what someone else is facing.

It’s been a week of uncertainty for me too. I’m in Richmond, Virginia for my son’s lacrosse conference championship. They won on Thursday, and I don’t know what will happen today. Thus, this week’s newsletter is a bit different. I’m going to highlight some of my older newsletter issues that address common job search questions.

I’ve been helping job seekers for quite a while. And what I love doing is helping them understand the process, the strategy, and the human side of hiring.

I’ve done recruiting, I’ve been in HR, I’ve worked for one of the top outplacement firms in the country, and I’ve worked in a business school career center. So this gives me a pretty good perspective on how the process works… TODAY!

What makes me different is that I genuinely care and want people to succeed.

I don’t have fancy branded strategies. I’m a solo business owner, hustling to help.

Recently, I moved to Burlington, Vermont. A place I’ve always wanted to live. Proof that it’s never too late to fulfill your dreams.

I don’t write resumes because I hate them. There are hundreds of really talented resume writers who do this extremely well and I can introduce you if you need a resume.

My focus is on what you will actually do to uncover jobs. AND how you will present yourself during the interview.
